Introduction: These are Ashe's answers for an "Interviews" meme thread at DoA, with questions by Nana aka SacredMonsoon. If you were to describe yourself with one word, what would it be?
What is most important to you in the world?
Making my own choices.
Would you help someone who needed it while passing?
I tend to avoid situations where I can be recognized by random strangers.
Are you very observant?
How innocent/naive can you be?
I can fake it, but I'm jaded and uh, "educated" as anything.
Can you entertain yourself easily?
Yes, if I literally have nothing to do I will simply meditate.
How well do you get along with others?
It really depends on who we are talking about... I have run across way too many jackasses in the galaxy. I do get along quite well with Riddick, along with my mother and generally anyone who works for her.
What was the longest time you had a friend?
Several years, back when I was young.
Do you have someone who knows you inside out?
If you mean physically, Riddick comes closest. Metaphorically, no one knows every detail about me.
How short is your temper?
It takes a lot to anger me, I maintain good control over my emotions.
Can you let go of grudges easily?
If it's a bad enough offense, I am an assassin. If it's something minor, I have better things to do than invite negative energy.
Do you read?
Yes. The Art of War is one of my favorites.
Do you watch TV?
When it's available, if I'm bored. Nice antiquated technology reference, by the way.
Do you collect anything?
How long do you stay interested in something?
As long as I want to.
If you collected, would it be for interest or profit?
It already serves both purposes.
Do you know your parents/creator?
Mother is still up to her old tricks running an establishment in Beijing. My father I never met, I only know what little she has told me: that he was a handsome Japanese man who frequented the place at the time. She chose him for the purpose of bearing a child for which she would be sole caregiver, and I have no issue with this, nor do I wish to know more about him. She will always be all the family I ever need, and I will always be her "little ninja."
What is your birthday?
Do you have any siblings?
No, Mother only wanted one child.
Ever have to fight for what you believe in?
I believe in staying alive while I have a choice, so, yes.
When did you move out on your own?
I became without a residence at age 18 due to Mother's imprisonment and our home being burned to the ground.
When did you REALLY mature?
I'm not sure, considering I was brought up in an establishment of the decidedly adult nature. I had an early start, that's for sure.
Did you have many friends?
At mother's, yes. Now, no, but I have quite a few contacts.
Any action you regret?
Attempting to go along with rehabilitation after my own incarceration.
What is a memory you treasure?
Quiet nights at Mother's... and my first experience with a man.
Do you have a dream partner?
I'm very happy with the one I have now, thank you.
Do you believe you seek someone like your parents(or creator)?
I certainly admire many qualities Mother possesses... but they are not required in a lover.
Do you have one night stands?
I most certainly have.
What feature is most attention grabbing for you?
Physique... although I must say Riddick's eyes are quite entrancing. Lucky me, he has everything I want in one package.
What MUST someone have for you to consider them?
Older, younger, same age as you?
I don't care.
How do you feel about settling down?
It's a rather difficult thing to do when one likes playing ninja and galavanting around with the galaxy's most wanted criminal.
How many dates before you go to bed with someone?
If I want them, a date is a waste of time. We can think about that after.
How do you handle rejection?
With amusement, as it is very rare.
How many times did you stop something before it developed?
I would have wanted to do that why? Now, well, I'm quite happily taken... and he's a jealous lover. Works for me.
Have you settled down and if so for how long?
Relationship-wise, perhaps... I would like to think so, anyways. It's a bit of a hard call with Riddick. Location-wise, definitely not. I have no idea when or if that will happen, and it does not bother me.
That would be tough to pull off at this age even if I liked women that way.
What do you love most about your partner?
...that I can see in his eyes that he actually cares, even if he might not admit it with words.
For Riddick? "Lover" is about all I can think of. I like using his name.
How many relationships have you been in?
Several, though most were short.
Have you ended any?
Has your heart been broken?
Any loves you cannot have?
I prefer not to dwell on the past.
Do you believe in true love?
Have you ever died?
No, not for lack of others trying, though.
Can you even die?
Have you seen someone die?
Have you killed someone?
Have you had someone killed?
I kill my own targets, thank you very much... though Riddick does help now. It's not like I send him off to do it, though. It's a joint effort.
What makes you truly happy?
The pleasureable things in life.
If you could, what is one thing you would spend your life doing?
Things children are not intended to read.
Do you have a job, if so what is it?
I am an assassin for hire.
Have you ever gone insane?
No, but I have been drugged, and that is not a pleasant experience.
Did you ever feel as if you were the only sane one in the world?
I would say authority figures in general are nuts.
If you had a choice, would you live a calm eternal life, or live a wild short life?
I'm not sure.... I am almost thinking the latter. Yes, I do like being alive, but I alm also unafraid of death. As was said so very many years ago... "To die would be an awfully big adventure."
